It’s been an extremely busy 3 months for Creventive, we have been producing and designing some spectacular parties, including a 10th Wedding Anniversary party in Battersea, a Holy Communion extravaganza in Kew, a fabulous wedding in Marlborough, a ‘speak easy’ drinks reception for a corporate client at the Landmark Hotel, a Japanese inspired Bar Mitzvah at The Phillips Gallery, and lastly, a Bloc Party for 300 in London.
Shhh….its a surprise…
Starting with the Summer period, Creventive were asked to plan a wedding anniversary lunch and a surprise party.
Our client briefed us to find an amazing private dining space for 16 close friends and family. We instantly brainstormed and decided that Daphne’s was the place to go.
Using the private dining space, Creventive decorated the room with hundreds of Calla Lillies, which were the bride’s choice of flower on her wedding day some 10 years earlier.
After Lunch and as a surprise, a red double-decker bus to take guests on a scenic route of London back to the family home in Battersea.
Whilst the tour was in full swing complete with drinks and disposable cameras, we were busy transforming the home into a comfortable setting for afternoon drinks and canapés including the wedding cake of the brides dreams!
The garden was adorned with overhead festoon lighting and a projection of their wedding video onto the garden wall, provided by Lightwave Productions.
If you are going to go to this much effort, why not have another party the day after, which is exactly what our clients did. Turning the space around into an afternoon BBQ space, our friends at Top Hat Catering supplied a yummy menu and drinks for guests to enjoy.
Serenading them into the evening was the talented JJ from Eight Ray Music who sang an acoustic set of classics while guests partied the night away.
Holy Communion – Kew
Hitting the ground running, our next task was to produce a memorable event for our youngest client yet.
Holy Communion is a very special occasion and to mark this we wanted to provide an event that would reflect this.
Our client’s (stunning!) home in Kew was the setting and the garden, the canvas for the party. We installed a stretch tent from Palmers, the Luxury Stretch Tent Company that covered the area with style and class, extending the living space into the garden.
Our client loved colour and we wanted to introduce this wherever we could. Using an array of furniture from Greathire, we injected splashes of mauve, green, blue and yellow into the space.
Guests were welcomed by a cool jazz trio from Snap Entertainment, who filled the air with quirky songs as Top Hat Catering seamlessly passed canapés.
Our client’s friends were entertained by the fabulous team at Sharkey & George. Light saber battles, mask making and party games filled the room with laughter. Towards the late afternoon, we transformed the playroom into a cinema complete with popcorn boxes and beanbags for a viewing of Star Wars!
A BBQ lunch was served and guests enjoyed the flowing drinks into the small hours.
A Creventive Wedding
This year Creventive is developing a new service within the company – Wedding Planning!
Now, as you can imagine, a wedding is just a wedding but a Creventive Wedding….now that's a wedding you want to be invited to!
In May we were drafted in to support, the culinary geniuses that are Top Hat Catering, as producers supporting their in house management team. This was no ordinary wedding….
A canopy of stretch tents were installed throughout the walled garden, orchard and over the swimming pool.
A total of 9 tents were sewn, stitched and tensioned to make a gorgeous white ceiling to the garden.
The reception tent, where the speeches took place during the drinks reception, was lit in a subtle and creative way by Light Motif.
Uplighters tucked behind trees and hidden in the shrubs lit the garden wall throughout the night creating a warm and elegant feel.
Guests made their way through the reception tent and then into the bar tent. This was a herb garden, however the in house gardening team stripped out all herbs only leaving 4 rose trees.
We installed direct lay flooring and covered it with astro truf. This gave the room a modern and creative feel.
Guest moved through from the bar tent to the Chill Out tent where Raj Tents had installed soft seating for the guest to relax in after dinner.
The client supplied chic and elegant coloured cushions of all shades and hues giving the room its own identity within the vast reception space.
Seated on 4 long tables of 50 the wedding breakfast setting was truly stunning.
Floral supplied by Chrissie Wiltshire were placed in clusters down the length of the tables. Teamed with hurricane lamps and tea lights it created a very pretty place to eat!
Light Motif installed ‘apple’ and ‘pear’ lights into the fruit trees that trailed the walls of the garden.
Guests dined on sea bass ceviche, lamb cutlets and chocolate yumminess! Top Hat Catering pulling all the stops out and delivering a seamless service.
The entertainment was brought in buy the talented and crowd wowing ‘Roaming Revue’ by Eight Ray Music. Guest were on their feet from the moment the words ‘ first dance’ were heard, the dance for was FULL!
The boys kept the guests dancing until the wee small hours of the morning!
Gentleman’s Club at the Landmark Hotel
Only days later, we were back, this time at the Landmark Hotel.
The hotel played host to our client’s extensive week long program of events and our brief was to create a reception that would end the week with a bang.
We wanted to install a setting where the 500 guests could all relax, enjoy a craft cocktail or two and unwind in.
Our styling was a nod towards a contemporary gentleman’s club; masculine undertones of grey, camel and black were used with contrasting accents of copper.
Our friends at Event Concept and Veevers Carter were on hand to bring our vision to life.
Installing a 5m circular bar, finished in brushed copper, anchored the centre of the Ballroom. This, coupled with a 16’ floral masterpiece, of twisted willow and hydrangea balls in a huge grey urn towered above the bar staff and guests and imposed grandeur to the room.
Using furniture sourced from Hire It, we created cosy nooks of fabric chesterfields and vintage lights.
As we all know, one bar is never enough – at the end of the ballroom we positioned an 18’ faux paneled wooden bar with back bar shelving decorated with curiosities and succulents.
Drinks and canapés flowed all evening and the guests all left very happy.
Bar Mitz Vah at Phillips Gallery
As our feet nearly touched the ground, we had a fabulous Bar Mitz Vah to produce. Our friends at Mustard Catering asked Creventive to manage the styling and event management of this very special party.
Our clients were amazing and let our creative team inspire and install a Japanese influenced setting at the Phillip Gallery in Berkeley Square.
Guests were welcomed to the gallery with an acoustic band, playing favorite songs of our client, as Coco, our Origami Artist provided by Sternberg Clarke produced delicate cranes, butterflies and lotus flowers, which were handed to guests.
Mustard poured stunning cocktails and passed canapés as guests mingled around huge birch trees.
As dinner was called, guests made their way to the upper gallery where soft blue lighting from White Light and hanging paper lanterns greeted them. Sushi bars and a fabulous menu kept guests amused for hours as did Coco and the band.
Our clients’ artwork of marbled pictures hung on the walls for guests to peruse.
As the dinner was getting into full swing, Creventive were putting the finishing touches to the night club. A huge mirror ball flanked with neon hung over the dancefloor as giant marbled balloons filled the space.
How very downtown Tokyo!
Mochi balls and other Japanese influenced canapés circulated as hard beats from Box Club resident Jenny Adyeri filled the space.
We had a great time partnering with Mustard Catering and cannot wait to plan another party with them.
With only a week of respite in hand, we moved on to our next party -
A Manhattan style bloc party in the heart of Camberwell – in a car park!
Our client wanted their staff to feel as though they where in the streets of Brooklyn, were neighbours would all scramble together tables, seating and food to create a relaxed environment but obviously with a Creventive Edge.
Our go to for projects like this always start with The London Kitchen who put together a menu of street food and craft beers and wines.
As you can never trust the weather in London we had to arrange for a roof type structure to be in place. Twenty 5m Sumbrellas later, we had rain cover!
Using Velvet Living’s industrial range of furniture we styled the party and created seating areas and places to perch and enjoy the delicious food.
Wheelbarrows, filled with ice and beer punctuated the setting and guests were never out of reach of a beverage.
As guests played table football and ping pong, the beats of DJ Dan Flack from Eight Ray Music played over into the late summer evening, festoon lighting from Wise Productions glowed in the late night sun.
