The Creventive team were lucky enough to be invited to the Private View of the stunning new exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery for Audrey Hepburn, Portraits of an Icon which runs from 9th July until 18th October
This fascinating photographic exhibition will explore the life of film star and fashion icon Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993). Tracing a career from her early years as a ballet dancer and chorus girl in London’s West End, to her becoming a stage, screen and fashion icon in Hollywood, and her philanthropic work in later life, this exhibition explores the captivating rise of one of the first truly international stars, and one of the ‘world’s most photographed’.
In both classic and rarely seen photographs, this exhibition is unique in drawing attention to the context in which these images were published and consumed. Highlighting innovation in graphic design and publishing, the inclusion of vintage magazine spreads, film posters, playbills, fashion sketches and other ephemera complete the story of these photographs and Hepburn's iconography.
The exhibition will feature over 60 prints from iconic photographers of the twentieth century, such as Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Angus McBean, Cecil Beaton, Erwin Blumenfeld, Norman Parkinson and others drawn from the Hepburn family archive.
